Walled hamlets and small villages are typically referred to as <em>castelli<\/em> in Tuscany, the same term being used for castles in the more traditional sense. The entire village of Volpaia is thus often correctly referred to as the <span style=\"color: #a61c00;\"><a title=\"Castello di Volpaia\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/volpaia.tuscany.italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #a61c00;\"><em><strong>Castello di Volpaia<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a><\/span>, although that is actually the registered name of the winery located there. The winery, in fact, owns much of Volpaia. The village is nevertheless well worth a visit for a stroll through its quiet lanes and perhaps a tranquil lunch.
