Indeed, Ferrone, as it is commonly known, is famous world-wide for a huge range of terracotta production, ranging from <a title=\"painted terracotta\" href=\"https:\/\/www.impruneta.com\/en\/painted_ceramics.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3399ff;\"><strong>pots and art works that are later painted<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, through <strong>olive oil jars (<em>orci<\/em>)<\/strong> and <a title=\"terracotta garden ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/tuscany-toscana.blogspot.com\/2012\/09\/italian-terracotta-garden-decorations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3399ff;\"><strong>garden plant pots and ornaments<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, to <strong>floor and roof tile and cladding production<\/strong>. The large deposits of clay around Ferrone lend themselves to the production of particularly durable terracotta which is, in addition, resistant to frost. Not surprisingly, terracotta has been used more or less universally for centuries in Chianti as floor and roof tiles, and for the production of olive oil jars. The employment of terracotta for the external facing of buildings has recently become popular again, a recent example being the new <a title=\"Greve in Chianti public library\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greve-in-chianti.com\/greveinchiantipubliclibrary.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3399ff;\"><strong>public library at Greve in Chianti<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.
