Chianti Holiday Apartments and Rooms

Anyone visiting Tuscany and especially Chianti for more than two or three days should very seriously consider the option of staying in the country or in a village rather than in a hotel in town. You have a choice among self-catering villas, a farm houses (casa colonica), a part of a farm house (a self-catering vacation apartment) or a individual rooms which can be Bed & Breakfast or not. Some rooms have a kitchen corner and so are effectively studio apartments. Many but not all of these options include a swimming pool. A villa rental will probably include exclusive use of the pool while an apartment will offer access to a pool shared with the occupants of the other apartments and rooms on the property. Strictly-speaking an agriturismo is a working farm that offers accommodation although the term is sometimes (incorrectly) applied to any former farm house offering a place to stay in Tuscany. Apartments in villages often have a terrace as an amenity in place of a pool.
