Chianti vacation villas

The term “villa” is used fairly loosely in the Tuscany tourism sector. In fact a true Tuscan villa is a very large house, usually the headquarters of a farm with multiple dependencies, often somewhat Georgian in layout and appearance, characterised by high ceilings, grand staircases etc. There are also of course a very few and famous Renaissance villas and castellated villas in Chianti. A “casa colonica” is a farmhouse and some of these can be very large. The Tuscany vacation rentals listed here are all villas or large  former Tuscan farm houses located in the Chianti Classico wine territory. They are often near wineries but are not working vineyards themselves. Other true Tuscan villas have been converted in to luxury boutique hotels, often exquisitely furnished and with their own restaurant and other facilities.
